What we actually do

Best Electrician Toronto is a booking and dispatch service for electrical work across the GTA. You call us, we work out what the job needs, and we match you with a licensed and insured electrical contractor who covers your area and does that kind of work.

We're telling you that up front because the distinction matters. In Ontario, the licence that lets a business contract for electrical work belongs to the contractor — not to a phone number or a website. The electrician who turns up at your door holds that licence, does the work, and agrees the price with you directly.

How it works

  1. You tell us what's going on

Call, or send the details through our contact form. A panel that keeps tripping, a quote for pot lights, an EV charger, or no power at all — whatever it is, we want the specifics up front so the right person shows up.

  2. We match you with a licensed electrician

We line the job up with an electrical contractor who works in your part of the GTA and does that kind of work. Every electrician we dispatch is licensed and insured.

  3. You get a quote before work starts

The contractor scopes the job and prices it with you directly. Nothing gets done until you've agreed to what it costs.

How to check any electrician's licence

This applies to us and to everyone else you might call. In Ontario, only a Licensed Electrical Contractor can legally contract to do electrical work, and every one of them has a seven-digit ECRA/ESA licence number beginning with 7 — written as ECRA/ESA 7000000. It's required to appear in their advertising, on their vehicles and on their paperwork.

Ask for that number before work starts, then check it against the Electrical Safety Authority's public contractor listings. It takes a minute and it's the single most useful thing you can do before letting anyone touch your wiring.

Worth knowing too: most electrical work in Ontario needs a permit — what the ESA calls a Notification of Work — and it's the contractor's job to file it, not yours. A quote that's cheap because it skips the permit is not a bargain. It's a problem you'll meet again when you sell the house.

What we won't do

  • We don't publish reviews we can't verify. No invented star ratings, no stock-photo testimonials. When we have real reviews tied to real jobs, they'll go up.
  • We don't quote prices we can't stand behind. Our cost guides give you honest ranges so you can sanity-check a quote — they're not a promise about your specific job, and anyone quoting a firm price sight-unseen is guessing.
  • We don't dispatch unlicensed work. Every electrician we send is licensed and insured.

Where we work

We cover the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, North York, Oakville, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Markham and Vaughan. Not sure whether you're inside that? Call and ask — we'd rather tell you no than waste your afternoon.

Frequently asked questions

Are you an electrical contractor yourselves?
We're a booking and dispatch service. We take your call, work out what the job needs, and match you with a licensed and insured electrical contractor covering your area. The contractor who attends holds the licence, does the work, and contracts with you directly for it.
How do I check that an electrician is actually licensed?
In Ontario, only a Licensed Electrical Contractor (LEC) can legally contract to do electrical work, and every LEC has a seven-digit ECRA/ESA licence number starting with 7. Ask for it before work starts and look it up in the Electrical Safety Authority's public contractor directory. Do this with us or with anyone else you call — a contractor who won't give you the number is telling you something.
Do you charge to connect me with an electrician?
No. There's no fee to call us or to be matched. You pay the contractor for the work they do, at the price the two of you agree on.
What areas do you cover?
We cover the Greater Toronto Area: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, North York, Oakville, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Markham, Vaughan. If you're just outside those and not sure, call and ask — we'll tell you straight if we can't help.
Why aren't there any reviews or ratings on this site?
Because we'd rather show you nothing than show you something we made up. We don't publish star ratings or testimonials we can't stand behind. When we have verified reviews tied to real, completed jobs, they'll go up — and not before.
Can you help in an emergency?
Call the number on this page rather than filling in the form. Burning smells, sparking, scorched outlets or a total loss of power all warrant a phone call, and if there's any sign of fire you should be calling 911 first.
